The maintenance of piston air compressors mainly includes daily maintenance, periodic maintenance and long-term storage maintenance.
Daily maintenance
Check the lubricating oil level and oil quality: ensure that the lubricating oil is not lower than the lower limit, the oil is not turbid and emulsified, and replace the ISO VG100 grade compressor oil if necessary.
Clean the appearance and heat dissipation components of the air compressor: wipe the casing with a dry cloth, use compressed air to blow back the cooler fins, and ensure that the heat dissipation efficiency is not less than 85% of the design value.
Check fasteners: use a torque wrench to check the cylinder head bolts, base fixing bolts and connecting rod bolts to ensure that there is no looseness.
Operation monitoring: use an infrared thermometer to detect the temperature of each cylinder (usually ≤120℃), observe the fluctuation range of the pressure gauge (rated pressure ±10%), and abnormal metal knocking sounds indicate that the connecting rod bearing is worn or the piston pin gap is too large.
Drainage operation: After shutdown, open the drain valve at the bottom of the gas tank to drain the condensed water to prevent liquid water from flowing back and causing cylinder liquid hammer.
Refueling operation: Refuel the lubrication points of the compressor every day or every shift. Special parts such as motor bearings need to be accurately refueled according to the operation manual.
Record equipment operation log: Record the operation of the equipment to detect and handle faults in time.
Periodic maintenance
Cleaning the air valve and filter: Clean the air valve every 800 hours and the filter every 1200 hours to reduce cylinder wear.
Replace the engine oil and filter: Replace the engine oil and filter every 2000 hours, check and adjust the bearing clearance.
Clean the cooler: Rinse the cooler with a dust gun or water every 2000 hours to keep the heat dissipation surface clean.
Check the belt tightness: Check the belt tightness every 2000 hours of operation and adjust or replace it if necessary.
Replace the intake filter: The filter element of the intake filter should be replaced every 500 hours, and then every 2000 hours.
Cleaning the intake valve: Clean the intake valve at least once every six months to remove carbon deposits.
Inspect the safety valve: Inspect the reliability of the safety valve every month.
Long-term storage and maintenance
Add grease before sealing: Before sealing the unit, add an appropriate amount of grease according to regulations.
Cleaning the oil seal grease before restarting: Before restarting the unit after being idle for more than 6 months, it is necessary to remove the original oil seal grease, clean it with kerosene or gasoline, and add new oil.
