How to operate air compressor in hot summer

Summer is coming
The air compressor is about to face the most severe "high temperature test" of the year. Lishan has prepared a complete set of high temperature response solutions for you to help your equipment safely and efficiently spend the summer.

 

First, when the unit is found to be high temperature, eliminate the normal high temperature phenomenon first. Many users often fall into the misunderstanding that "the lower the operating temperature of the air compressor, the better", but in fact, the main exhaust temperature should be ensured to be greater than the pressure dew point temperature. If the temperature is too low, condensed water is easy to precipitate, causing the lubricating oil to emulsify and deteriorate, just like "poisoning the blood" of the equipment. Therefore, scientific temperature control is the key factor to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.

 

When the temperature of the unit rises abnormally, Lishan recommends taking the following systematic response measures:

Ventilation and heat dissipation
Strictly control the upper limit of the ambient temperature of the air compressor operation, and focus on optimizing the heat dissipation structure of the station:
Reasonably add exhaust fans to block the hot air circulation
Clean up debris around the air inlet of the air compressor to avoid affecting the cooling air circulation
Isolate the surrounding high-temperature heat sources to prevent the inlet temperature from being too high, affecting the oil temperature, exhaust temperature and the operation of downstream post-processing equipment

Lubricant maintenance
Please fully inspect the equipment before summer:
Regularly check the lubricant oil level of the air compressor: Below the warning line? Stop the machine immediately to add oil! Oil-deficient operation = high temperature "suicide"
Strictly control the lubricant oil replacement cycle: Expired oil products have a weakened heat exchange performance and the host heat accumulation causes high temperature

Triple filter inspection
Check the air filter, oil filter, and oil separator to prevent the high risk of blockage in summer:
Air filter In summer, the temperature is high and dry, and mosquitoes and dust increase. Prevent mosquitoes and dust from inhaling, which will cause the air compressor to be overloaded and loaded for a long time, resulting in reduced operating efficiency and increased electricity bills
Oil filter Oil filter blockage reduces the flow of lubricating oil, and the heat of the air compressor main engine cannot be fully removed, causing high temperature
Oil separator core Oil separator blockage will cause excessive oil pressure difference, increase the burden of the unit, and cause the unit temperature rise to increase
Cooler cleaning
Clean the cooler regularly to maintain efficient heat exchange performance and ensure the normal operation of the air compressor.
Air-cooled models: Clean the cooler fins regularly, and don't let flocs block the "heat dissipation window"
Water-cooled models: Be wary of scale and algae biofouling, which affects the heat dissipation efficiency
Cooling system inspection
For air-cooled models, check whether the fan motor is running normally, check whether the fan blades are dirty or deformed, and check whether the air inlet filter is dirty. You can also observe the temperature difference inside and outside the chassis to determine whether the exhaust duct of the unit is unobstructed.
Water-cooled models maintain an inlet water temperature of ≤32℃℃ and a water pressure of 0.25-0.45Mpa. If the parameters do not meet the standards, increase the power of the circulating water pump or add a cooling water tower to ensure the normal operation of the cooling system and reduce the operating temperature of the air compressor.

Check the circulating oil system
Check whether there are foreign objects in the oil circulation system to avoid failure of the temperature control valve, so that the lubricating oil does not pass through the cooler and directly enters the machine head, causing high temperature

Beware of false temperature alarms
Check the temperature sensor regularly to avoid false temperature rise alarms caused by its failure, resulting in equipment shutdown
Check the line connection status to avoid poor contact, which may cause the system to misjudge abnormal temperature
